FIFTY 24PDX Gallery presented "From The Desk Of Whatsherface”, an exhibition of drawings, paintings, screenprints and by a trio of artists: Austin-based painter Michael Sieben; and Los Angeles-based artists Mel Kadel & Travis Millard. Their work has been featured in numerous magazines and publications including Arkitip, Color, Thrasher & Juxtapoz.
Travis Millard, born 1975 in St. Joseph, Missouri, grew up in Olathe, Kansas and graduated with a BFA in Illustration/Printmaking from Kansas University in 1998. He founded the Fudge Factory Comics operation in 1997, and has been producing small run zines, prints and comics under the umbrella since then. Travis' work has been widely exhibited, and published in books and journals. Narrow Books released "Hey Fudge", a 240 page solo collection of personal comics and drawings, distributed by Last Gasp.
Michael Sieben lives and works in Austin, Texas, with his wife Allison, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Studio Art in 1999. He fills his days by designing skateboard graphics for Roger Skateboards, writing and illustrating articles for Thrasher Magazine, operating Okay Mountain Gallery, working on various freelance projects with the Volcom Art Loft, painting, drawing, skateboarding, participating, and smiling.
